On the beautiful, rolling ridges in the small community of Fair Play, California, you’ll find the walnut orchards of Clary Ridge Ranch.  You are right in the middle of the historic Gold Rush country of southwest El Dorado County, at the edge of the El Dorado National Forest.   Today, Fair Play is the home of several fine wineries, a collection of quaint bed and breakfasts, family farms, and of course, Clary Ridge Ranch.

We grow primarily Franquette walnuts and we think our walnuts are the best because of the loving attention we give our trees throughout the year.  In addition, we use only Organic farming practices.  (Our walnuts aren’t bleached either.) Did you know that walnuts not only taste great, but they are among the highest in antioxidants and omega-3 oils?

We have three harvest seasons.  Beginning in May, we harvest green walnuts, September brings Noix Fraiche (undried walnuts), and in October we harvest traditional dried walnuts.  With the help of our family, friends, and customers, we hand pick and hand sort our walnuts with tender loving care.

We celebrate the end of the harvest season with an ANNUAL HARVEST PARTY.  The tractor rides to the orchard are just part of the fun!  We also provide old fashioned games and picnic areas.  Walnuts are available for purchase.  Space is limited and reservations are required, so email us to let us know you if would like to join in the fun.
